Event Description

Be a part of one of the most prestigious nursing informatics conferences in the nation as we celebrate 30 years of the Summer Institute in Nursing Informatics (SINI). This conference has become essential to health care informatics. SINI will provide two days of interactive presentations focusing on real-world evidence, including patient engagement with pandemic restrictions, HI-TECH with Hi-touch, and how we ensure a competent health information technology (IT) workforce.

Objectives:

At the end of this activity the participant will be able to:

  1. Explain the technology opportunities and solutions the pandemic has created for patients, healthcare workers and informatics professionals.
  2. Identify best practices using healthcare technologies for patient engagement in all aspects of care.
  3. Discuss how Artificial Intelligence is used in the EHR and other healthcare technologies.
  4. Appraise new healthcare informatics competencies and the actions necessary to support implementation of the new competencies in the workforce.

Outcomes:

Participants in the competencies track will be assessed with the conference evaluation and a one follow up session at one month.

  1. They will need to state two areas where they have improved informatics competencies.
  2. Participants will state three different technology innovations that can be use in their situations.
  3. Participants will analyze different solutions for dealing with pandemic issues within the EHR. Questions during the track sessions will be encouraged and discussed as learning stimulus.
  4. Appraise new healthcare informatics competencies and the actions necessary to support implementation of the new competencies in the workforce.
